Jumeirah Village Circle

Jumeirah Village Circle is a Nakheel community laid out as a ring of numbered districts around a central loop road, bounded by Al Khail Road, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Hessa Street. The plan mixes housing types on the same streets, so mid-rise apartment buildings, rows of townhouses and detached villas sit next to each other rather than in separate zones.

The community was designed to be self-contained, and largely is. Circle Mall sits near the centre with supermarkets, a cinema, a gym and a food court, landscaped parks are threaded through the districts with play areas and walking loops, and nurseries, clinics, salons and casual restaurants occupy the ground floors of the residential blocks. JSS International School has its own campus inside the circle.

There is no metro station in the community, so getting out means driving. Al Khail Road runs along one edge towards Dubai Hills Estate and the city centre, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road runs along the other towards Sharjah in one direction and Abu Dhabi in the other, and Hessa Street links across to Al Barsha and Mall of the Emirates.

Building is still active in parts of the community, so streetscapes vary block to block: some roads are finished with mature landscaping and pavements, others still sit beside a plot under construction. Stock runs from studios and one-bedroom apartments through to family townhouses and villas, which is why the resident mix here spans single professionals and families in the same district.
