City Walk

City Walk is a Meraas district off Al Wasl Road, set between Jumeirah and Downtown Dubai. It was laid out as a street grid rather than a mall, so the retail runs along open-air boulevards with cafe terraces and shaded arcades, and the apartment buildings sit above and behind the shopfronts. The look is deliberately uniform across the district: pale stone facades, wide pavements, planted medians and parking held underground.

Because the shops and the homes share the same streets, most errands here are done on foot. Supermarkets, clinics, gyms, salons and a long run of restaurants sit inside the district itself. Coca-Cola Arena and The Green Planet indoor rainforest are part of the same grid, so a concert or a family outing does not require leaving the neighbourhood, and Roxy Cinemas is on the main boulevard.

The address is the other half of the appeal. City Walk sits between Al Wasl Road and the Sheikh Zayed Road corridor, which puts Downtown Dubai, the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa a short drive away in one direction and the Jumeirah beachfront a short drive away in the other. Safa Park is directly across Al Wasl Road, with the Dubai Water Canal promenade beyond it. There is no metro station inside the district, so residents drive or take taxis, and both road corridors are reached straight from the edge of the grid.

Homes range from apartments in the original low-rise buildings along the boulevards to the newer buildings on the Central Park side, which face landscaped parkland instead of a retail street. Buildings sit over basement parking and share the district landscaping and security, and the estate is managed as part of the wider Meraas portfolio.
